After cultural exchanges, study abroad, and working in France over the past decade, I’ve been able to travel all around the country and see some pretty amazing places. One of the many reasons I love France is the variety of regions that have their own unique culture and charm! Today I’m going to share photos from 10 beautiful cities in France.
I was nominated by fellow travel blogger Rebecca from Rebecca Goes RendezVous to post one favorite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. It is fun to search through my favorite photos, bringing back memories of my travels. Today, I nominate Ann Kathrin from Wandering Explorer Travel to do this challenge because her travel photos have me dreaming of my next adventure!
Instead of making 10 different posts I thought I’d compile my photos into one like I saw Diana from Handstands Around the World do. For each photo I will not reveal the location just yet, but I will give hints, so feel free to guess the locations of the 10 beautiful cities in France in the comments!
1. A Medieval Town
Located on top of a hill, this 13th century town is known for its stony ramparts and charming cobbled streets. After exploring the city’s old walls, you might stop for some crêpes and hard cider at a local restaurant.

2. A Famous Bridge
This bridge is named after Saint Bénézet, but most people call it by another name! Besides saints, this city is also celebrated for being the home of 7 former popes!

3. Cute Canals and Charming Architecture
The quarter pictured in this town is nicknamed after a famous Italian city, but its architecture is more like that of another neighboring European country. This isn’t the most famous view, however!

4. A Village in a Big City
You have to climb many hills or flights of stairs to reach this neighborhood of one of France’s largest cities.

5. A Gastronomic Capital
This city known for its famous timbered houses, is located in a famous wine producing region. It’s also well known for another culinary product typically eaten alongside meat.

6. A Fast-Growing University City
This pretty city is home to one of the oldest universities in the world and is still popular with students today! There is plenty of sunshine and charm that has no doubt attracted its quickly growing population.

7. A Fortified City
This historical city might not be as well known as some of the others on this list, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth visiting! Here you can visit the birthplace of French writer Victor Hugo as well as one of Vauban’s Fortifications, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

8. City of Art and History
This picture was taken at one of the city’s 362 historical monuments! Not sure where? Here’s a hint: look at the ground.

9. The Prettiest Little Mountain Town
This city is recognized for its lake and charming canals. It’s also known as the “pearl” of one of France’s most beloved mountain ranges.

10. The Pink City
The terra cotta bricks forming many of the buildings here gave the city this cute nickname. This city is at the crossroads of the past and future; its history dates back to before Roman times and it is the headquarters for Europe’s aeronautic industry.

Could you recognize any of these 10 beautiful cities in France? Make sure you’re following the blog to stay tuned for the answers!
